Governance |
Ethics and accountability is vital in parliament as it is in our personal lives.
In parliament however, a code of ethics in process and in transparency should apply not only to the governing party but also to the opposition parties in the way that they handle themselves during question period.
Equally important is the ethics and morality upon which Canadian governance is founded.
Constitutionally our governance is founded on the principles of the supremacy of God and the rule of law in keeping with the preamble to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Functionally however, our governance is driven by popularity, judicial activism, special interest groups and special rights.
